Couscous (easy method)

Couscous it light and tasty and can be made in a variety of ways. Couscous is made with semolina flour, the main ingredient for most dried pastas. It compliments many Middle Eastern dishes. Couscous can also make a great rice substitute for several dishes.

There are several variations to cooking Couscous. This is the most basic method, it will have you eating with no effort and little time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Couscous
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 cup Boiling Water
  • 1 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, Add the Couscous and Salt.
  2. Add the Boiling Water to the Couscous.
  3. Cover the bowl with a plate, trapping the steam.
  4. Leave covered for 5 minutes.
  5. Use a fork to fluff the couscous.
  6. Optional: Add the Olive Oil and fluff the Couscous again.
