Beans
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Dry Beans
- 1 tsp Salt
Prepare beans
- Inspect the beans. Occasionally a small pebble with get mixed in with the beans.
- Rinse beans
- Fill with water 2 inches above beans
- Soak 2-8 hours
- If more than 8 hours, refrigerate while soaking.
- Drain beans, Rinse beans, Drain beans.
- In pan, Fill with water 2 inches above the beans
- Add Salt.
- Bring water to boil.
- Simmer on burner setting 2, Covered for 50 min. (just a little more than low)
- Check the beans.
- Increase cooking time until reached the desired tenderness.

Tips
- Add more flavor to your beans by using broth instead of water.
- Add more flavor by adding diced onion to the beans before cooking.
- Under cook your beans if you plan to freeze the beans, finish cooking the beans after thawing.
